When you log into WhatsApp Web, the platform will tell us that there is an update and that we can now use it without having the phone always connected.
The day has finally come: WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp for desktop no longer need you to have your smartphone connected to use it.
After several months of testing the multi-device mode, the popular messaging application has taken a fundamental step in its goal of connecting devices easily and without constraints.
And although it was possible to test the multi-device mode of WhatsApp via WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp Desktop, by joining the beta program enabled by the company, from 19th of November, it is no longer necessary to connect to this program in order to use the messaging application from your computer.
WHATSAPP WEB NO LONGER NEEDS THE SMARTPHONE TO BE TURNED ON TO WORK
And although an application version for iPad and Android tablets is not yet available, the company has taken a new step in the path of opening the doors to using the messaging app on multiple devices at the same time.
WhatsApp itself specifies that it is possible to use the app with the same account on up to four connected devices and a mobile phone. Obviously, all the features of WhatsApp are available on other devices, such as video calls or voice calls, regardless of whether the mobile phone is connected or not.
WhatsApp has not yet formalized the arrival of this feature, for now, it is convenient to make sure that you have downloaded the latest version of WhatsApp both on your mobile and on your desktop to make sure you can use it as soon as it is available.
The changes are available for the latest iOS version (188.8.131.52), WhatsApp Web version 2.2142.12 and WhatsApp Desktop version 2.2140.12. Surely it’s a matter of time before it reaches the rest of the devices.
