It is time for clone trooper action with which Star Wars fans can jump back into the battle in the month of April 2021. The remastered version of Republic Commando will arrive on Nintendo Switch and PS4 on April 6.
This game is still a tactical first-person shooter video game that is also set in the Star Wars universe like the previous one.
Republic Commando actually arrived on Xbox and PC in 2005. That was a few months before the game known as Revenge of the Sith hit theaters. This remastered version is being handled by Aspyr as with games like Jedi Outcast, Jedi Academy, Episode 1: Racer, and Knights of the Old Republic s remastered versions.
For one thing, the new Republic Commando will not have the previous game’s multiplayer mode, while there will be modernized controls.
This newly remastered version has its setting go back to the Clone Wars days, putting the player in charge of special ops unit Delta Squad. This is a team of clone commandos with awesome names like Boss, Scorch, Fixer, and Sev. You can shoot bad guys, and you can also order squadmates to do their best in fighting off enemies with the skills they possess.
One of the most anticipate heroes has come to Republic Commando this time. He is Temuera Morrison, who takes the voice of Boss. He also played Jango Fett and the clones in the prequel trilogy. He came back to the Star Wars universe as Boba Fett in season 2 of The Mandalorian, and he will also star in the expected Disney Plus show called The Book of Boba Fett.
As for Republic Commando, since its release in 2005, it continues to be a fan-favorite Star Wars game up till this time. It is very impressive to see developers working on a remastered version of this wonderful game in 2021.
