Meizu X8 VS ZTE Blade A4: They Are Powered By Android 8.1 Oreo

The ZTE Blade A4 is a mid-range smartphone that was launched in September 2017 with average specifications and hardware. The phone has similar features with the Meizu X8 smartphone on the specs. This post is all about the comparison between the Meizu X8 and the ZTE Blade A4 smartphone. We will try to figure out the specs differences, performance and their current prices.

Meizu X8 VS ZTE Blade A4: Design

On the design, the Meizu X8 has it all. The smartphone is built with a metal and a rounded smooth edges. The modern bezel-less display on the front gives the phone an edge over the ZTE Blade A4 that have bezels both on the top and bottom. The Meizu X8 is available in Blue, Black and White colors and it measures 74.59 mm x 151.19 mm x 7.8 mm in dimensions with 160 gram in weight. The ZTE Blade A4 is built with plastic on the overall body. It’s lighter than the later, and it measures 69.5 mm x 147 mm x 7.9 mm in dimensions. The smartphone has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner for security just like its rival.

The Meizu X8 is also winning on the front. The smartphone offers a large bezel-less screen size of 6.2 inches Full HD+ with an IPS capacitive touchscreen and a screen resolution of 2220 x 1080 Pixels. It also has a 398 pixel per inch density and a corning gorilla glass 6 for protection.  The ZTE Blade A4 is equipped with a screen size of 5.45 inches which is not large nor small, and the screen has a resolution of 1440 x 720 Pixels and 295 pixels per inch density which is not anywhere close to the Meizu X8. The Meizu X8 has a higher screen to body ratio, and the smartphone is also winning on the display as well.

On the camera department, the Meizu X8 boasts a combo camera on the back that consists of 12 Megapixels + 5 Megapixels, while the ZTE Blade A4 has a single rear camera of 13 Megapixels. Both phones come with a dual LED flash, the Meizu X8, however, has support of 4K video recording while the ZTE Blade A4 can only record 1080p video resolution at 30 seconds per frame. On the front, the Meizu X8 has a front facing camera of 20 Megapixels with F2.0 Aperture, CMOS Exmor, Face Recognition, 5P Lens, Exposure Compensation, and Pixel Size – 1.0 um, while the ZTE Blade A4 has an upfront camera of 5 Megapixels for selfies.

The Meizu X8 features Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset with an octa-core processor that clocked at a speed of 2.2 GHz, while the Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 on the ZTE Blade A4 is handling its assignment at a maximum speed of 1.4GHz. The processor on the Meizu X8 is built with 14nm process technology which is for power efficiency while the ZTE Blade A4 processor is built with 28nm process technology which is mostly found on average phones.
The Meizu X8 has 4GB/6GB of RAM with internal memory of 64GB/128GB which is not expandable, while the ZTE Blade A4 has 4GB of RAM with inbuilt storage of 64GB which is expandable. Both phones are powered by Android 8.1 Oreo with support for 4G LTE network and other regulars.

Meizu X8 VS ZTE Blade A4: Battery & Price

The Meizu X8 has a nonremovable battery capacity of 3210 mAh, while the ZTE Blade A4 has a nonremovable battery capacity of 3200 mAh. It’s only the Meizu X8 that supports fast charging technology. The Meizu X8 will cost around $399, while the ZTE Blade A4 will sell at $200.

Our Verdict:

It will be unfair to compare the Meizu X8 with the ZTE Blade A4. But you can also notice that the Meizu X8 comes with a variant that has 4GB plus 64GB which is similar to that of ZTE Blade A4. The ZTE Blade A4 would have been a better phone if not for the thick bezels that make the phone look outdated. So the final point goes to the Meizu X8 smartphone.
