7 years ago, MTN was named on the 2014 BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brand rankings and also named the Most Admired and Most Valuable Brand in Africa. In fact, the telecom company retained its ranking as the Most Admired and the Most Valuable African brand in 2015 to prove that it surely stands out when it comes to telecommunication in Nigeria.

In March 2019, MTN launched a WhatsApp channel to let its customers buy airtime and data bundles through the messaging app. MTN users can also check their balances and store their credit or debit cards in the app for future purchases. In August, last year, MTN decided to sell its shares in Syria, Afghanistan and Yemen, and to divest its 49% minority holding in Irancell over time.

The company revealed that its decision was because their assets in the Middle East contributed less than 4% to group earnings in the first half of the year, so there was no reason holding on what could be when could just cut their losses and move on.

If you are not aware, MTN Nigeria just launched a fresh service named WhoDeyCall, and it works just like the popular TrueCalleryou we are all familiar with. MTN WhoDeyCall is simply a brilliant service that reveals the name of anyone who calls you, while also showing you blocked, unknown, and spam phone numbers. The service is so useful for all phone users because it lets you see the caller’s name as a pop-up message before you pick the call.

Like I wrote above, MTN WhoDeyCall functions like TrueCaller, however, there is a major difference. While TrueCaller needs internet to work on your device, MTN’s new service works without data. Meaning, without the internet, the name of the caller will still pop up, even when the number is not stored on your smartphone. To make things more appealing, the service works on all phones, including non-enabled internet-based mobile devices. See How To Use MTN WhoDeyCall Service In 2021:
