We have still talked so much about Android 11 and its arrival on various devices and lo and behold, attention is already starting to turn to Android 12. In fact, the new version of Google’s operating system arrives this year. And what do we all want to see? Screenshots! After all, the interface is part of what defines an operating system. Now a leak that reached the Internet revealed this. In a document, we can see the new interface and also some functional changes. It is true that it is not possible to fully certify the authenticity of the document. However, XDA says it has found a lot of evidence that it is real. So let’s look at the new Android 12 images.
Android 12: amazing images just arrived on the Internet!
One of the screenshots of Android 12 shows a new design of the notification panel. The transparency disappeared and was replaced by an opaque beige background. Still, the color should depend on the current theme, or whether the dark mode is enabled or not. However, the separation between the “conversations” section and the rest of the notifications continues. And the rounded corners of each notification are now more pronounced. However, the number of mosaics has decreased. So we went from 6 to 4 making the icons bigger.
In addition, we will have new privacy features on Android. In the new version, we can receive a notification in the notification panel whenever an app wants to access the camera or microphone. When we touch the warning, a pop-up appears that reveals which app is using it. Google has been testing this for over two years. So it will be interesting to see this novelty finally reach Android 12.
Related to this change we have a supposed renewal of the “Privacy” settings in Android 12. The new settings may contain toggles to disable the camera and silence the microphone completely, in addition to enabling access to the location.
Finally, we have what appears to be a new addition to the Android widget selection. For example, it is possible to see a supposed widget “Conversations” on Android 12 that can highlight recent messages, missed calls, or activity status. The widget is small and only shows a message/call/status.
One of the documents that we saw shortly after the publication of this article reveals that Google intends to make “chat widgets” a mandatory feature for all Android 12 devices. These widgets provide access to “People Shortcuts” that contains an avatar, name, notification content, and status information.
